GameTime, a leading manufacturer of commercial playground equipment, is proud to announce our playground at Windward Beach Park in Brick, New Jersey has received the 2014-2015 Design Excellence Award from the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association (NJRPA).

The nature-themed playground was designed by MRC, GameTime’s exclusive representative in New Jersey, and Landmark Design, the custom play division of GameTime. The playground has two separate play areas; one for children ages 2–5 and the other for children ages 5–12. There is a massive treehouse, sculpted out of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), custom GFRC rocks and boulder climbers, interactive sound panels and more. The playground was designed around the 7 Principles of Inclusive Playground Design™, as outlined in the Me2 program developed in partnership with PlayCore and Utah State University, to provide physical and social inclusion for people of all ages and abilities. .

This is the first time the Township of Brick has received a Design Excellence Award from the NJRPA. Mayor John Ducey accepted the award at the NJRPA convention in Atlantic City. In his acceptance speech, he stated, “When we cut the ribbon on the new playground at Windward Beach and saw how much fun the young people were having, we knew it was special. This award is proof of that.”

Brian Gates, Vice President of Sales for MRC, and his design staff are excited for the recognition the project brings to the Township of Brick. “We live, work and play in New Jersey and we love the vision of the Brick community,” said Mr. Gates.  “They wanted a playground that enriches the lives of children of all abilities. When they came to us with an idea for a themed, inclusive playground, our designers took great care to make sure we brought their vision to life. We are honored to have played a role in this project and congratulate them on this award.”
